Graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1994 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education

Experience

After completing my Student Teaching Practicum in England, I graduated with honors from the Pennsylvania State University in 1994. I have taught first and second grade full time in Maryland. as well as English in Japanese schools.  While living in Cairo, Egypt, I enjoyed teaching English to adult women from other countries. In addition to traditional classroom teaching, I have taught health and fitness classes for 7 years in Egypt, NC, and Japan.

Bio

Anyone who knows me (or my family!) knows I am a huge Penn State fan! I grew up in Pennsylvania and attended PSU, where I met my husband in 1992. Our two older children currently attend PSU and share our love of "Dear Old State! We enjoy trips to State College with our family and friends. It's a home away from home for us!

In 1994 I married my college sweetheart after completing my teaching practicum in England. While I was studying and traveling abroad, I developed a love of traveling and learning about other cultures and only wanted more! So...Steve and I decided to take orders to Okinawa, Japan....then Cairo Egypt....then back to Japan... it's been an adventure!

I have three amazing children and two kitties. Over the years, I have taught first and second grade full time. I have been a long-term substitute, classroom "mom", school volunteer, and PTA everything! I have taught English to Japanese children as well as Egyptian adults. I have been humbled by extraordinary experiences and thank God everyday for this wonderful life!

As a family, we have moved more than 12 times. I have had the privilege of living in three different countries, studied other languages, traveled extensively, and learned how blessed we are to be American! I have learned true appreciation for other cultures while living outside of the United States and hope to serve as a positive role model to my students and instill a love and respect for all people.

When not teaching, I love spending time with my family and cherish every minute we are all together. Relaxing with a good book, hanging out with my family, trying new recipes, entertaining friends, and teaching fitness are among my favorite ways to spend my free time.

What a joy to be able to bring my "grab bag" of experience to my Meadow View Kindergartners this year! Thank you for sharing your beautiful children with me!
