I graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor's of Science in Education. My concentration was in Recreation Administration. After working in aquatics administration, I went back to school at the University of Memphis to earn my teaching license in Elementary Education (K-8). I completed my student teaching in Kindergarten and 7th grade math and reading in Shelby County and Memphis City Schools.

I began my teaching career with Memphis City Schools working at Crump Elementary from 2003-2009. While in Memphis I had the pleasure of teaching 5th grade, 4th grade and 1st grade. I was the chair person for Student Council for grades 3-5. I was coordinator for the Headsprout Reading program our district purchased for 1st grade students. After school I was a Title 1 tutor for Reading and Math.

In 2012, I began working at Meadow View Elementary. I began my journey in 4th grade and now teach 2nd grade. I am part of the PBIS team that helps encourage positive behavior in students.

I am originally from Kansas City, Missouri; where most of my extended family still live. My father was a Marine, so I spent my childhood between the bases in Millington, TN and El Toro, CA. After high school I attended the University of Memphis where I  earned my  BSED.

Before earning my teaching license, I was involved in the aquatics program at the YMCA in Memphis, jTN and Prairie Village, KS. I was in charge of the swim lesson program and running private classes. I taught people of every age how to swim or be comfortable around water. I even taught some aerobic classes during my time there.

I went back to school to obtain my teaching licensure at the University of Memphis Graduate Program. After completing my program I applied to schools in Memphis. I received a job in the fall of 2003 teaching 5th grade. I have enjoyed my time in Memphis and miss all the great educators I had the pleasure of working with.

I moved to Onslow County in 2009 to be closer to the beach and my brother. I have enjoyed my time here, especially going the the beaches every summer. My mom moved down here with me to get away from brutal Kansas winters. I enjoy having my family near me and to be able to visit my brother often.
