Student Ambassadors

Buddy 2 Buddy Ambassadors
Buddy 2 Buddy Ambassadors

Meadow View Elementary School first implemented the “Buddy 2 Buddy” program during the 2013-2014 school year. Our Buddy 2 Buddy ambassadors assist with new student and parent tours, new student celebrations, along with student activities and programs such as Unity Day, Red Ribbon Week and military deployment groups.

They also participate in service learning projects such as the Christmas Cheer Canned Food Drive, Relay for Life, Pasta for Pennies and All American Family Night!

The “Buddy 2 Buddy” program consists of 4th and 5th grade students who were nominated by their classroom teacher based on character traits and demonstrated academic ability. They serve as “Ambassadors” and assist new students in transitioning to our school. The “Buddy 2 Buddy” Ambassadors give new students and their parents/guardians a tour of the school and introduce them to the administration and other school personnel such as the school counselor, the media coordinator, the school secretary, and the enrichment teachers.

The focus of Buddy 2 Buddy is to strengthen the new student’s academic and social success from their very first day on campus.

The “Buddy 2 Buddy” Ambassadors were trained by Angela Thomas, School Counselor, and Lisa Loeffel, Military Family Life Counselor. Each ambassador received three hours of training in order to participate.

The program is a modified version of the middle and high school programs, “Student 2 Student”. The “Buddy 2 Buddy” Ambassadors meet monthly to recognize and honor new students, plan fundraisers, create team building activities, and to discuss community involvement.
